This direct hire opportunity calls for a highly skilled pediatric pharmacist specializing in hematology and oncology to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical care to neonates through young adulthood. The role is situated within a renowned pediatric hospital that serves patients requiring advanced therapies such as CAR-T and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). As a vital member of the inpatient pharmacy team, operating 24/7, you will ensure safe, effective medication management and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
Location: Madera, CA
Schedule: 10-hour mixed shifts, primarily days, with some weekends and limited evenings or overnight shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical pharmaceutical services with an emphasis on hematopoietic cell transplant patients, including CAR-T and BMT therapies
- Review and process medication orders ensuring compliance and safety from prescription through administration and patient monitoring
- Act as a pharmacology consultant and advocate for pediatric patients
- Support accreditation efforts, continuing education, and maintain core competencies for FACT compliance
- Mentor and train pharmacy students, PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents
- Utilize EPIC EMR for medication management and documentation
Qualifications & Desired Experience:- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree (required)
- ASHP-accredited residency program completed (preferred), with PGY2 oncology focus strongly preferred
- Minimum two years oncology experience in pediatrics strongly preferred
- Registered Pharmacist license in California (CA-SBP) (required)
- Certifications: PALS within 12 months of hire (required), BLS within 30 days (required); ACLS encouraged for certain shifts
- Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) and other specialty certifications preferred
