About the Role

We're hiring a Pharmacist Manager to lead daily operations in our Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy with a strong focus on Data/Order Entry & Verification and Production/Fulfillment performance.

This is an operations leadership role for a pharmacist who can run a department with clear expectations, tight workflow control, and measurable results—accuracy, speed, compliance, and on-time completion.

If you're the type of leader who likes owning outcomes, building strong teams, and continuously improving processes, we want to meet you.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)Own Workflow + Daily Execution (Data & Production)

  • Run the day: control queues and priorities (new admits, STATs, cycle fills, changes, discharges) to ensure work is completed accurately and on time
  • Coordinate smooth handoffs across data dispensing packaging delivery
  • Identify bottlenecks and adjust staffing/assignments in real time to keep production moving without sacrificing accuracy

Lead a High-Performance Team

  • Supervise and support pharmacists, technicians, and interns; set expectations and build accountability
  • Coach, train, and develop staff with clear feedback and performance follow-up
  • Conduct shift huddles, assign station responsibilities, and maintain strong communication across the team

Data Excellence (Order Entry / Verification)

  • Ensure accurate order entry, clinical verification, patient/facility profile maintenance, and documentation
  • Confirm correct directions, quantities, cycle schedules, packaging instructions, allergies/interactions, and clarifications
  • Resolve missing information quickly through effective facility/provider communication

Production Excellence (Fulfillment / Dispensing)

  • Oversee dispensing, packaging workflows, cart fills, unit-dose/blister processes (as applicable), and final checks
  • Maintain safe and compliant handling of controlled substances (security, counts, reconciliation, documentation)
  • Support inventory integrity: organization, expiration management, returns, recalls, and waste reduction

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (PA Board of Pharmacy, DEA, HIPAA, and company SOPs)
  • Maintain strong check systems to reduce errors and rework
  • Investigate errors/near misses, implement corrective actions, and improve SOPs/training to prevent recurrence
  • Stay inspection-ready and support audits with accurate documentation and controlled substance oversight

Continuous Improvement + Metrics

  • Track and improve department performance using operational metrics such as:
  • turnaround time / queue aging
  • accuracy / error rate / near misses
  • rework rate
  • on-time completion of cycle fills and STATs
  • Build/update SOPs, training checklists, and workflow standards
  • Recommend process improvements and help implement new tools/automation when needed

Customer/Facility Support

  • Provide professional support to facilities, nurses, and prescribers to resolve issues quickly
  • Deliver excellent service while protecting patient safety and compliance

What Success Looks Like (First 60–90 Days)

  • You take ownership of daily queues and establish consistent workflow control
  • Team roles are clear; training gaps are addressed; accountability improves
  • Production/data deadlines are met consistently with fewer errors and less rework
  • Documentation and compliance are organized, consistent, and inspection-ready
