Pharmacist – Long-Term Care Pharmacy

Pay: $60.00/hour during contract
Pay if Hired: $62.00/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM initially
Schedule Change Effective 10/5/2026: 5-week rotating schedule with start times of approximately 6:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, and 1:00 PM. Each rotation will include a weekend shift from 8:30 AM–5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required
License: Active pharmacist license in good standing

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a contract-to-hire opportunity within a long-term care pharmacy. This role is responsible for ensuring prescriptions are reviewed, processed, and dispensed accurately and safely while supporting pharmacy workflow, regulatory compliance, and production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day pharmacy workflow, production quotas, and dispensing deadlines.
• Review and verify new and refill prescriptions for completeness and accuracy.
• Check medication packaging, labeling, and drug selection prior to dispensing.
• Perform clinical review for drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergies.
• Supervise pharmacy production staff and support proper order entry and workflow.
• Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV medications and solutions.
• Assist with controlled substance ordering, receiving, documentation, and storage.
• Help maintain perpetual inventory for Schedule II medications.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, HIPAA, and payer guidelines.
• Participate in evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing.
• Strong clinical knowledge of medication interactions and allergies.
• Excellent attention to detail and dispensing accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity paying $60.00/hour during the contract period, with pay increasing to $62.00/hour upon permanent hire
