Job Title: Pharmacist - Part-Time
Division: Ambulatory Operations
Work Arrangement: Onsite only
Location: Houston, TX
Salary Range: $12,445 - $14,642
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Summary
To position will provide professional skills in the distribution of drugs and in clinical services offered for patient care. The ideal candidate will have infusion experience and will be available to work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and will act a relief position to cover staff as needed. This position is located at our McNair Campus.
Job Duties
Interprets physicians orders for medications and ensures therapy is appropriate for patients diagnosis, weight, and age.
Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications per physicians orders in all patient care areas in accordance with departmental and applicable laws.
Detects, prevents, evaluates, and reports, when necessary, Adverse Drug Events.
Maintains patient medication profiles and develops patient care plans.
Counsels patients receiving medications.
Provides drug information to members of the health care team.
Assist in supply inventory needed for the pharmacy.
May supervise the activities of support personnel.
May assist in the training and development of newly employed departmental staff.
May serve as preceptor to technicians, pharmacy students, residents, and extended-interns.
May participate in pharmaceutical continuing education, in accordance with departmental performance standards.
May conduct/participate in research activities to include publishing findings in professional journals.
Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
No experience required.
Current licensure from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
Preferred Qualifications
Infusion pharmacy experience.
Good communication skills.
Able to work in a fast paced environment.
