Overview:Hours: A minimum of 1/8hr shift Mon-Fri between 7AM-7PM and Saturdays from 8:45AM-5:15PM. Expected to work rotating weekends.
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Pharmacist PD is responsible for the daily organization and supervision of all drug distribution activities, providing education on medication related issues, and provision of clinical services including ongoing drug usage evaluation and participation in performance improvement activities. The Pharmacist II is responsible for evaluating medication orders and for providing efficient, quality, cost-effective pharmaceutical care: a direct copy of each medication order is received, evaluated and processed; performs duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by law. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology as related to drug usage and common disease states. Ability to apply current pharmacological and biopharmaceutical principles for the selection and use of drug products in a clinical setting. Ability to prepare drugs for administration and to give advice on and monitor the use of drugs in a clinical setting. Knowledge of laws, regulations and standards relative to Institutional Pharmacy. Strong desire to learn and grow with fast paced, dynamic work requiring team problem solving. Pediatrics experience is a plus, but not required. Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: Current pharmacy licensure in the State of California.
