Education

  • Must have a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Must be a current registered pharmacist in the state of Florida, board certification.
  • Self-motivated
  • Good interpersonal communication with physicians, nurses, etc.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Work as a team player
  • Ability to use computerized information systems.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager of Pharmacy, performs all duties necessary to provide effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs. This includes compounding, labeling and dispensing of medication and IV admixtures. Supervises pharmacy technicians in all work areas.

  • Provide clinical services to enhance medication administration and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Provide clinical drug information to meet the needs of the healthcare staff.
  • Participation in appropriate committees
  • Provide support for department education including residents, interns, and students.
  • Require up to 25% variable staff rotation to meet department needs including evenings and weekends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Standing, sitting, walking for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Push cart for prolonged distances containing supplies/medications.

Threshold Requirements

These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis. Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation, TB/PPD Surveillance Program and Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
