Pharmacist

Hometown Pharmacy, a regional independent pharmacy group that focuses on customer service and the changing landscape of pharmacy, is currently looking for a full-time pharmacist for our retail location in Struthers, OH.

Respnsibilities

• Reviews prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy, appropriateness of medication therapy

• Directs pharmacy technicians engaged in counting, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals

• Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste

• Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost to maintain pharmacy files, computer system, and inventory

• Submits third-party insurance claims electronically and works with insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and patients to ensure payment and resolve coverage denials so patients do not go with medications

• Coordinates monthly packaging of medications based on patient preference and/or pharmacy capabilities (i.e., bubble packs, DisPill packaging, or pill boxes)

• Communicates with and treats customers of various ages

• Complies with all State and Federal Laws and Regulations
