Pharmacist - The Woodlands Location - Dayshift

The Ideal candidate is a licensed pharmacist with a Pharm.D. or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college. They demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and a commitment to patient-centered care in an ambulatory oncology setting. While hospital pharmacy experience (6 months or more) is preferred, the candidate should excel in accuracy, communication, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Competencies:
Daily Operations
Processes and reviews all orders/requests accurately and efficiently, verifying appropriateness.
Ensures all medications meet the highest standards of quality, including:
Proper preparation of final dosage forms
Neatness
Accurate labeling
Assesses appropriateness of ordered medications by considering:
Disease state
Body surface area (BSA)
Age
Height and weight
Renal function
Utilizes computer resources and clinical information systems to support pharmaceutical care, including:
Order entry
Verification
Distribution
Final checking
Optimizes patient care and customer service by:
Completing all required operational responsibilities
Staffing beyond scheduled shifts as needed to ensure completion of team assignments
Demonstrates flexibility by adjusting schedule across areas and shifts based on operational needs.
Follows all standard operating procedures and safety standards (USP 797, USP 800, NIOSH) when:
Handling hazardous drugs
Preparing medications
Disposing of hazardous waste
Reports and documents chemotherapy spills appropriately.
Leadership
Oversees production of all types of admixtures, ensuring:
Accuracy of procedures
Correct labels
Appropriate doses prior to release
Ensures all admixtures meet the highest standards of quality and preparation.
Provides supervision to immediate technical staff, including:
Completion of job assignments
Monitoring lunch breaks
Ensuring adherence to institutional policies and procedures
Manages time effectively to maintain high productivity.
Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration with:
Pharmacy team members
Other healthcare professionals
Monitors the appropriate and responsible use of institutional resources.
Maintains a positive, professional attitude and promotes teamwork through constructive behavior.
