Staff Pharmacist.

Position Summary:
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the safe and accurate dispensing of prescription medications, providing clinical guidance to patients and healthcare providers, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations. The pharmacist delivers high-quality patient care while overseeing pharmacy operations and supervising support staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications in accordance with legal and professional standards.
  • Evaluate prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and therapeutic duplication.
  • Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, storage, and adherence.
  • Provide drug information and clinical recommendations to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer immunizations and other clinical services as permitted by state law.
  • Supervise, train, and direct the work of pharmacy technicians and interns.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering, storage, and disposal of medications, and monitor controlled substances per DEA requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state board of pharmacy regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality assurance, medication safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications.

Required:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice.
  • Current immunization certification (where applicable).
  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
