Pharmacology Associate

Payrate: $25.00 - $29.13/hr
 
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Pharmacology Associate I to join an In Vivo Pharmacology team supporting metabolic disease research. This hands-on laboratory role will focus on executing in vivo studies that contribute to obesity, metabolic, and cardiovascular disease drug discovery programs within a collaborative, cross-functional research environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills in animal research, a commitment to high-quality science, and an interest in developing within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to translational pharmacology studies while gaining exposure to project teams, scientific strategy, and industry-standard research practices.
 
Responsibilities:

• Perform animal handling and in vivo procedures using rodents and large animals (dogs and non-human primates)
• Administer compounds via IP, PO, and SC dosing routes
• Conduct blood collection, euthanasia, and tissue collection in rodents
• Process tissues for downstream analysis
• Maintain study documentation and assist with data entry and analysis
• Support research activities within a vivarium environment

 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Animal Science, Life Sciences, or related field
• Hands-on experience with rodent handling, dosing, blood collection, and tissue sampling
• Experience in academic, biotech, pharmaceutical, or research laboratory settings
• Willingness to work with large animals (training provided if needed)
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a small, highly collaborative team
• Preferred
• Experience in metabolic disease research
• Exposure to tissue processing, molecular biology techniques, or data analysis
• Large animal experience is a plus

Skills:

• Respirator fit testing
• Annual TB screening
• Proof of measles vaccination
• Enhanced security clearance
• Occasional weekend work               

 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $25.00 - $29.13 /hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
