We're a locally owned, independent community pharmacy where customers are neighbors, not numbers. Our front counter is often the first and last face a patient sees, so we're looking for a friendly, reliable cashier who takes pride in great service and keeps our store running smoothly.


Position Summary


The Pharmacy Cashier / Front-End Associate handles register transactions, greets and assists customers, and supports the pharmacy team at the pickup counter. You'll be the welcoming face of the pharmacy — accurate with money, quick on your feet, and warm with every patient who walks in.


Key Responsibilities

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) register: ring up prescriptions, copays, and front-end merchandise
• Greet customers, answer general questions, and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist
• Assist patients at prescription pickup — verify name and date of birth and follow all privacy (HIPAA) procedures
• Process cash, credit, debit, and insurance copay transactions accurately
• Handle returns, price checks, and phone calls; take refill requests and route them to the pharmacy team
• Stock, face, and rotate front-end shelves; monitor expiration dates
• Keep the checkout area, aisles, and store clean and well-organized
• Assist with receiving deliveries and basic inventory tasks as needed
• Maintain a courteous, professional attitude in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications (Required)

• High school diploma or equivalent (or currently enrolled)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work the scheduled shifts including [some weekends]
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• Basic math and comfort handling cash accurately
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [25] lbs
• Discretion and respect for patient privacy

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Prior retail, cashier, or pharmacy front-end experience
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Bilingual [language] a plus
• Interest in a healthcare or pharmacy career path
