Pharmacy Clerk - Outpatient - Clinic - Tulsa

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education – High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience – None Required

Licenses & Certification – None Required

Knowledge & Skills –

1. Ability to utilize a personal computer and its applications in a Windows environment.

2. Skills in organizing and maintaining accurate records and documentation.

3. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

4. Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with clinic staff, patients and the general public.

5. Ability to meet and deal with the public for the purpose of supplying or obtaining information.

6. Ability to maintain a confident, professional demeanor.

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of the position is to provide support and assistance to the pharmacist in the daily operation of the Pharmacy. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a clinical environment.  There is common exposure to infectious communicable disease, potentially hazardous chemicals and biohazardous materials.  Appropriate measures must be taken for protection against infection and radiation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work requires standing for long periods and working about the work unit. Work also requires regular and recurring bending, lifting, and stretching.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:

1. Assists pharmacist in checking and stocking supplies received. Checks to see that amount received is equal to the amount ordered; sees that stock is rotated as it is stored.

2. Answer and return patient phone calls in a timely manner

3. Assist in patient flow through the pharmacy, including patient check in and dispensing of medications

4. Responsible for mailing completed orders

5. Responsible for keeping the Pharmacy area neat and orderly.

6. Regular attendance is required.

7. Performs other duties as required.
