Overview: The Pharmacy Financial Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimization of all pharmacy-related billing and revenue cycle activities. This position oversees pharmacy charge capture, billing workflows, reimbursement validation, financial integrity, and coordination with internal departments such as Revenue Integrity, HIM/Coding, Compliance, Finance, and IT. The coordinator identifies billing discrepancies, resolves denials, maintains pharmacy components of the charge description master (CDM), and supports initiatives to improve financial performance across inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Financial Coordinator will oversee the pharmacy patient assistance and pharmacy patient assistance team. Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:: Bachelors degree required; health-related or business field preferred. Three or more years of hospital, pharmacy, or revenue cycle experience required. Experience with pharmacy billing, charge capture, or reimbursement processes strongly preferred. Knowledge of hospital billing systems, pharmacy workflow, EMR platforms, and third party payer requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact effectively with leadership, clinical staff, pharmacy personnel, and multidisciplinary teams Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position. Licensure/Certification/Registration:: None Certification in billing, coding, or revenue cycle operations preferred (e.g., HFMA CRCR, CPC, CPB). Additional Requirement: As a condition of employment within the Pharmacy Services Department of Shands Hospital all employees must be accessible by telephone. This requires each employee to provide a valid telephone number to the department Staff Assistant, in order for the department to reach them in the event of hospital need and/or emergency.
