How you make a difference:
The Pharmacy Manager oversees the medication room and the staff responsible for administering medication to patients. Working under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, this role supports the management of pharmacy processes and medication administration activities. The position provides direction to medication staff and helps ensure medication-related operations are completed accurately and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medical prescriptions as directed by the health care practitioner and assist other healthcare professionals within the scope of practice.
  • Receive and store supplies, verify stock, and maintain inventory records.
  • Communicate necessary information to nursing staff, physicians, supervisory personnel, and other staff while protecting patient dignity and confidentiality.
  • Assign daily duties to medication cart nurses and conduct weekly audits of medication carts and MAR’s.
  • Assign and audit monthly MAR’s for changeover and filing while completing clerical and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year clinic experience preferred.
  • Able to work under pressure and able to relate well to patients, security, visitors and co-workers.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse within state of employment.
  • Must have and maintain current CPR/BLS certification.
