Overview:
NaphCare is hiring a PharmacyMaterial Handler to join our pharmacy team at our Corporate Headquarters located in Birmingham, AL.
NaphCare Rx, is NaphCare's in-house pharmacy dedicated solely to correctional facilities across the country. Connected by our operations management software and EHR, TechCare, NaphCare Rx pharmacists become an integrated, essential part of the clinical team, from electronic medicine orders and secure delivery to pharmacy consultation and review. NaphCare Rx also extends purchasing discounts and cost savings directly to our partners and employees.
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Material Handler to support medication distribution to contracted facility sites. This role is responsible for preparing, packaging, staging, and shipping medications in compliance with pharmacy regulations and internal quality standards.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced production environment and understands the importance of accuracy, organization, and on-time shipment performance in healthcare operations.
*This is a full-time, on-site position with hours of 2pm – 11pm, Sunday through Thursday.
Responsibilities:
Order Staging & Distribution
- Organize completed orders by site for scheduled carrier pickup
- Match outgoing shipments to daily shipping reports and manifests
- Confirm all required documentation is included prior to release
- Coordinate with fulfillment and inventory teams to resolve missing items
Carrier & Logistics Support
- Prepare shipping labels and affix tracking documentation
- Maintain accurate shipment logs and tracking records
Inventory Support
- Pull bulk supply orders for packaging
- Maintain organized shipping and staging areas
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification as needed
- Monitor and report low stock or packaging supply shortages
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year experience in warehouse, shipping, logistics, or material handling
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills (data entry, shipping systems, inventory systems)
- Ability to follow written procedures and safety protocols
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
