Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Manager, Pharmacy Operations supports the Director of Pharmacy in leading the operational effectiveness of the Pharmacy Department. This role plays a critical leadership function in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant pharmaceutical care while driving continuous improvement across pharmacy operations. The Manager serves as a trusted operational leader and assumes responsibility for daily pharmacy operations in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy.
This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacy leader who enjoys hands‑on leadership, process optimization, and collaboration in a complex acute care environment.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Pharmacy in the overall direction and operational management of the Pharmacy Department
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Lead, coach, and support pharmacy staff under the purview of the Director of Pharmacy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical and operational teams to support high-quality pharmaceutical care
- Identify, develop, and implement operational, workflow, and process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and service excellence
- Assume responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, making decisions aligned with organizational policies and operational goals
- Performs duties as of a staff pharmacist as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: BS in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience
o Minimum of 2 years of hospital pharmacy management experience
- Licensure: Active Arizona Pharmacist License
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Management
- Experience: Pharmacy residency or fellowship training
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and/or BCPS
