Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

  • The Pharmacy Manager - Operations is a licensed registered pharmacist accountable for managing and advancing people, processes and / or programs that support direct or indirect patient care. This opportunity functions as the manager for the pharmacy technician team, overseeing daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and payroll. Handles hiring, performance coaching, evaluations, and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for providing leadership, oversight, alignment, and standardization for assigned Pharmacy operational area/business line. Implements strategic and operational initiatives including new services/programs, revenue enhancement, expense reduction, managed care utilization systems, and strategies. Responsible for ensuring performance excellence in terms of quality, safety, service, affordability, and technology. Oversees drug utilization management efforts; manages the pharmaceutical supply chain; and is responsible for the financial operations.
  • Full-Time position scheduled 40 hours per week, on-site at Trinity Health Oakland in Pontiac, MI.

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required. Advanced or Master's degree preferred (e.g., PharmD, MBA)
  • Licensure / Certification: Registered pharmacist possessing a valid Michigan Pharmacist and Controlled Substance License.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a pharmacist. Minimum three (3) years of pharmacy management experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Leadership - Provides leadership and accountability for delegation, decisions, and outcomes. Ensures alignment and standardization of Pharmacy operations across the continuum of care in compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and federal and state laws. Acts independently within scope of licensure, demonstrates agility, embraces new ideas and cultural differences, and manages competing priorities.
  • Strategy & Goals - Partners with executive leaders, medical staff, and the healthcare team to develop strategy, goals, and operational standards. Accountable for achieving strategic objectives and optimizing resources to deliver intended outcomes.
  • Quality & Compliance - Promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement. Collaborates to establish standards, monitors quality activities, identifies improvement opportunities, and implements corrective action plans to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Financial Management - Ensures preparation of operational and capital budgets for Pharmacy services. Promote responsible resource utilization, develops analytics and metrics, monitors KPIs, and drives performance improvement actions.
  • Pharmacy Operations - Oversees medication safety and efficient operational processes. Supports business development and revenue integrity initiatives, ensures 340B compliance, optimizes contracting, and leverages technology and centralized support services.
  • Clinical Services Support - Supports clinical pharmacy programs, drug use improvement initiatives, and medication safety efforts. Oversees staff development and education and communicate drug information and appropriate medication use guidance to key stakeholders and committees.
  • Professional Development - Leads training, education, coaching, and competency assessment for direct reports. Maintains personal licensure and competencies, pursues ongoing development, and fosters an inclusive, empowering work environment.
  • Procurement & Supply Chain - Manages procurement activities including purchasing, inventory, distribution, compounding, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals and investigational drugs. Improves efficiency, reduces waste, maximizes financial contribution, and manages vendor contracts and compliance.
  • Regulatory & Ethical Compliance - Maintains working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, and Standards of Conduct to ensure ethical, compliant, and professional practice.
