Job Summary The Pharmacy Operations Manager works under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy. This role manages clinical, financial, administrative, technology, staffing, compliance, and medication distribution operations while ensuring high-quality pharmaceutical care. The Pharmacy Operations Manager will also serve as a liaison between the Pharmacy, physicians, hospital leadership, and other departments and will perform the essential duties of the Director of Pharmacy when needed. Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily pharmacy operations, workflow, staffing, and service delivery.
Partner with the Director of Pharmacy and management team on departmental goals, budgets, and strategic planning.
Recruit, interview, train, supervise, and evaluate pharmacy staff.
Coordinate staffing schedules and monitor workload and productivity.
Maintain compliance with California and federal pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, USP <797>, and Joint Commission standards.
Manage medication inventory, including controlled substances and required documentation.
Oversee medication distribution systems and ensure timely pharmacy services.
