Pharmacy Operations Manger

GRX Holdings, LLC, a privately held company based in West Des Moines owning 40 pharmacy locations. Our purpose is to provide consistent, quality personal service, be genuinely concerned for our patient’s health, provide our patients with needed health information and always be readily available to our patients.

We are looking for an efficient, flexible, and highly motivated Full Time Pharmacy Manager to join our team at our Medicap Pharmacies in Grimes and Waukee, IA. Pharmacy hours are: 8:00am - 7:00pm Monday – Friday and 9:00am - 2:00pm on Saturday.

Under indirect supervision, oversees all aspects of the pharmacy operations, including patient services, administration, and personnel supervision. Provides full range of patient services by filling prescriptions, and supervising Pharmacy Technicians. Assures that all services comply with professional standards and applicable laws. Exercises broad judgment in professional field requiring extensive subject matter knowledge and expertise, while keeping senior management fully informed of operating issues and results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the customer service provided by employees. 
• Greet customers and offer assistance with products and services. 
• Resolves customer complaints and helps respond to customers’ needs.  
• Conducts community outreach. 
• Supervises operation of the store and pharmacy, including scheduling and task delegation. 
• Supervises the control of the store money including register counts, bank deposits, change orders and investigates draw offages. 
• Supervises merchandising by planning and ensuring retail floor has proper inventory including seasonal items, signs and advertising.
• Oversee inventory management, including proper ordering, maintaining minimal unused inventory, overstock and expiring product. 
• Supervises receiving, stocking, pricing, returning, and transferring of product. 
• Ensures the store is clean and presentable at all times; manages repair and maintenance requests; responds to emergencies should they arise.
• Ensures staff has knowledge of all computer and technology systems and software and ensures response to any system problems is resolved in a timely manner. 
• Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers. 
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned. 
• Assigns daily operational responsibilities/tasks and sets expectations for employees.
• Analyzes financial and performance data; develops goals and action plans to increase sales and control costs. 
• Identifies sales opportunities to ensure the growth and performance of the store. 
• Manage staff members performance by assigning responsibilities, setting goals and expectations, observing performance, providing feedback and giving recognition. 
• Provides coaching for staff members.
•  Monitors and ensures timely completion of required training and ongoing training. 
• Promotes teamwork and motivates team members by establishing expectations, tracking results, showing enthusiasm and sharing the company and store vision.
•  Ensures compliance with all company policies, applicable employment laws, all pharmacy state and federal laws and is consistently fair in the treatment of all team members. 
• Communicates regularly with team members through one-on-one discussions, team meetings, answering questions and ensuring communication is open between managing and non-managing staff.
• Supports Pharmacist in Charge with his/her direct responsibilities by working in partnership. 
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS

• Proven experience as pharmacy technician is a plus
• Experience with an online prescription system is a plus
• Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement is a plus
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Reliable with a keen eye for detail
