Join us, and discover why we are tied #1 in California and ten years in a row on the 'Best Hospitals' Honor Roll.

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly motivated Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Program Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and oversight of innovative pharmacy services across our ambulatory care programs. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Program Coordinator will lead pharmacy practice advancement initiatives, drive standardization and process improvement efforts, support multidisciplinary projects, and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered medication management services.

What's This Role All About?

  • Develop and maintain systems that support medication procurement, prescribing, distribution, administration, monitoring, and outcomes assessment.
  • Lead and support multidisciplinary initiatives designed to enhance clinical, operational, and financial performance of pharmacy services.
  • Serve as a pharmacy subject matter expert and operational leader for assigned programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, administrators, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor medication utilization, drug expenditures, and financial performance; identify and implement cost-containment opportunities.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives to optimize organizational performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and update policies, procedures, workflows, educational materials, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support clinical decision-making through development and maintenance of evidence-based tools, resources, and best-practice guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including FDA, USP, DEA, The Joint Commission, California Board of Pharmacy, and other governing bodies.
  • Participate in departmental and health system committees and contribute to strategic pharmacy initiatives.
  • Train, mentor, onboard, and support the professional development of pharmacists, technicians, residents, interns, and students.
  • Review medication safety reports, adverse drug events, medication errors, and audit findings; implement corrective and preventive actions as appropriate.
  • Partner with Pharmacy Leadership on staff performance management, coaching, and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide pharmacist coverage as needed to support patient care and ensure safe, efficient medication-use processes.
  • Promote effective use of pharmacy technology, automation, and informatics solutions to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency.
