Support and assist in the coordination of Pharmacy Services activities including preparation of sterile compounds both hazardous and non-hazardous using aseptic technique, compounding pharmacy maintenance and scheduled cleanings, inventory management of drugs and infusion supplies, ordering, stocking and receiving of medications and supplies, processes specialty orders, and maintains and stocks automated dispensing machine (ADM) where applicable. Job responsibility consists primarily of preparation of hazardous agents such as chemotherapy, anti-neoplastics, biological and hormone agents including investigational research drugs. Proficient in USP regulatory 797 and 800 standards in the maintenance of the IV room.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Upon hire: California Pharmacy Technician License
  • 3 years of pharmacy practice ( 6,240 hours) in an integrated health system or sterile compounding experience and PTCB certification, or
  • 4 years ( 8,320 hours) of experience if technician does not have PTCB certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Pharmacy technician program
  • Coursework/Training: Sterile compounding and hazardous drug coursework
  • PTCB certification
  • PTCB certificate in Hazardous Drug Management
  • Specialty certification (e.g., ACPE-approved sterile compounding certification), where applicable by role and state
  • Oncology experience or hospital work experience base

The successful candidate''s placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
