Required License/Registration/Certification

Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).

Shift

7 on 7 off Wednesday- Tuesday 12p-12a; some weekend and/or holiday requirements based on department need.

Job Summary

The OR Satellite Pharmacy Senior Technician assists pharmacists in providing medications to patients in an inpatient hospital setting by compounding complex sterile and non-sterile products and participating in the delivery of medications directly to patient care staff and to automated dispensing cabinets throughout perioperative areas. This position primarily works in the OR Satellite at Albert B. Chandler Hospital with a focus on medication inventory management and distribution.

This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience

Hospital/retail pharmacy technician and/or healthcare customer service experience preferred.
