    Description:

    PHARMACY SUPERVISOR

    CANCER CENTER

    SUMMARY:

    The supervisor will be responsible for overseeing our sterile compounding operations in Boise, Nampa and Caldwell.  They will be responsible for onboarding new pharmacists and technicians. The Cancer Center Supervisor will lead about ten colleagues.

    The Supervisor will work closely with Cancer Institute leadership, attend daily team huddles, and support clinical development across the entire Cancer Institute.  The Supervisor will be fully supported by the Cancer Center Leadership Team and will be mentored by a supportive Manager.

    The Cancer Institute's Pharmacy Supervisor will have the unique opportunity to be involved in the workflow designs and building of the new, freestanding Cancer Institutes will be built in Boise and Caldwell. 

    Relocation and Sign-on Bonus Available.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required. PharmD preferred.

    • Must be licensed by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist.

    • Must be licensed in Oregon within 90 days of hire.

    • Pharmacy residency preferred.

    • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist preferred.

    • Management/supervisory or clinical program coordination experience preferred.

    HOURS: You will enjoy three days off each week. The Cancer Center Supervisor will support the Center four 10-hour days each week. There will be no nights, weekends or holidays.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Clinically trains new pharmacists.

    • Assists in developing and implementing pharmacy policies and procedures and reviews other disciplines' policies or protocols as needed.

    • Functions as POC for site.

    • Provides staff supervision for 9 current pharmacists with more to be added.

    • Assists in employee evaluations.

    • Facilitates the VOICE system.

    • Facilitates establishment of new drugs on formulary. Review existing formulary for possible deletions. Updates physicians and hospital staff on formulary changes.

    • Identifies and provides educational programs necessary to maintain staff competency.

    • Manages pharmaceutical supply situations. Manages product shortages.

    • Coordinates regulatory requirements for clinical activities.

    • Coordinates the department's clinical quality assurance activities and documentation.

    • Acts as an on-call clinical specialist for consultations and staff support.
