Pharmacy Tech - Certified

JOB SUMMARY

Certified pharmacy technicians in a hospital setting performs a variety of clinical, technical, and administrative tasks under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist:

Department: Pharmacy

Reports to: Pharmacy Director

Key Responsibilities

• Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Prepare and distribute medications, including sterile and non-sterile compounding following precise formulas and aseptic technique.
• Inventory Management: Maintain and monitor drug inventory, order supplies, track medication usage, and ensure automated dispensing machines and anesthesia carts and operating rooms are properly stocked.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and compounding activities, ensuring adherence to safety, storage, and handling guidelines.
• Emergency Preparedness: Prepare and maintain crash carts and emergency medication trays, ensuring readiness for urgent situation..
• Quality Assurance: Conduct routine inspections of medication storage areas, remove expired stock, and ensure proper storage conditions.
