Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Tech, you'll help our patients feel better by providing safe and effective medications to them. You'll help our doctors and nurses feel better knowing that you are providing accurate and timely medication to patients.

Every day, you'll build trust by being extremely thorough and accurate at all times. Patient safety is your top priority, so you do everything you can to ensure all prescriptions are authentic, prepared correctly both in medication type and dosing, and are dispensed appropriately, under the Pharmacist's guidance.

To be successful in this role, you follow all safety protocols, including those intended to prevent infection, and you keep a clean work area at all times. You are eager to learn or help out in any way needed to keep the pharmacy running smoothly and get our patients their medications.

  • Fills unit dose carts and floor orders under direct supervision of Pharmacist
  • Assists Pharmacist in filling and processing outpatient prescriptions (retired employee, Hospice, and discharges on request by social services/financial counselor).
  • Assists Pharmacist in preparing discharge information sheets with drug information.
  • Check medication stock levels daily in Automated Dispensing Machines in Nursing areas and restock as needed
  • Assist Pharmacist in maintaining medication inventory in all Nursing areas and Pharmacy.
  • Responsible for both patient and floor stock charges; assures charges are sent to data processing in a timely manner

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of appropriate Pharmacy Technician training program, upon hire and
  • Pharmacy Technician: CA, upon hire

Preferred

  • One year of experience in a hospital pharmacy or
  • Two years experience in acommunity pharmacy
