Arnold Palmer Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Tech, Lead to function as a staff-level leader in their department and will take on both the duties of a Pharmacy Tech andcertain department lea dership tasks as well.

Responsibilities:Essential Functions
• Demonstrates an understanding of safety, emergency and risk management procedures.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the hospital mission, personnel policies, philosophy, goals, customer service, and objectives of Pharmacy and Orlando Health.
• Performs all functions of Pharmacy Technician III.
• Cross trained to perform all specialty pharmacy technician responsibilities based on the discretion of the pharmacy manager.
• Coordinates and assists with training for new Pharmacy Technicians.
• Coordinates and maintains organization of technicians teams, scheduling meetings, addresses issues (problem evaluation),
• Follows up and monitors progress of individuals and teams.
• Monitors productivity and workload patterns for specialty areas.
• Assists with implementation of new and redesigned procedures.
• Responsible for technician scheduling, including the scheduling and monitoring of outdated drugs search.
• Additional training to support pharmacists with the pharmacy software and labeling functions.
• Depending on the needs of the department, assists manager with auditing internal regulatory requirements including safety walks,
USP797 documentation, and JCAHO assessments.
• Assists manager in establishing cleaning schedules for specialty areas and other special projects.
• Serves as a liaison between technicians and pharmacists, technicians and nursing personnel.
• Assists the Pharmacists with duties related to the position of Pharmacist Assistant when needed.
• Participates in interviewing and selection of new employees.
• Depending on the needs of the department, assists manager with auditing internal regulatory requirements including safety walks, USP797 documentation, and JCAHO assessments.
• May help support the department with timekeeping requirements.
• Depending on the needs of the department, may be responsible for office supply procurement
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
• Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
• Completes all Orlando Health mandatory education.
• Attends in-services/meetings as required.
Education/Training
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Any program deemed necessary for advanced level technician in all areas of Pharmacy practice.
Licensure/Certification
• Must be currently registered with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy, renewed every two years.
Experience
Two (2) years of Pharmacy Technician experience required.
