Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician I performs functions related to pharmaceutical preparation and distribution. These functions will be assigned by pharmacists and pharmacy leaders based on the pharmacy workflow to support patient care needs. These tasks may include but are not limited to non-sterile compounding, sterile compounding, hazardous compounding, stocking automated dispensing cabinets, unit dose drug preparation, delivering medications to patient care areas, checking medication storage areas for outdates, billing, and other duties as assigned. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Technician license/certification with the applicable state Board of Pharmacy. 
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT, ExCPT, or national equivalent accredited by NCCA) is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 3 months previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred, but not required
  • As defined in competencies; ability to work accurately with attention to detail
  • Possesses communication, teamwork, customer service, computer skills, problem solving and organizational skills
