Pharmacy Technician: This 1.0FTE/Full-Time position is scheduled to work 8 HR Day shifts and is UFCW represented.

Compensation: Non-exempt, $25.81/HR — $42.13/HR Placement within this range is based on years of applicable experience.

Job Summary:
Under the general supervision and direction of a licensed pharmacist, the pharmacy technician is responsible for providing technical support to ensure appropriate pharmaceutical care for patients of Mason Health.

Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Works under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist according to state and federal laws
2. Ensures appropriate distribution of medications for both inpatients and outpatients. This includes but is not limited to sterile compounding, bar code scanning, and automated dispensing devices.
3. Inputs outpatient prescriptions
4. Fills inpatient and outpatient medications
5. Orders medications and ensures appropriate inventory for operations
6. Pre-packages medications
7. Practices sterile compounding according to USP 797 guidelines
8. Bills patients and departments for medications
9. Provide assistance to other healthcare practitioners such as nurses, respiratory therapists, etc.
10. Performs medication history inquiries for medication reconciliation (specialized duty)
11. Performs support and assistance with prescription assistance program(s), including but not limited to working with patients on applications, requesting prior authorizations, coordinating applications and appeals, managing complex cases, and tracking and distributing program information (including O-Drive requests); and assist with vaccines. (specialized duty)
12. Other duties as assigned.

Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:

1. Current Washington state Pharmacy Technician license.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Accurate data entry skills.
2. Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
3. Self-motivated and able to work independently
4. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; this may include using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and being able to compute rate, ratio, and percent 
5. Ability to anticipate issues and effectively solve problems. 
6. Intermediate- to advanced-level computer skills to include knowledge of current computer applications and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
7. Familiarity with hospital/clinic processes and terminology.
8. Ability to understand and implement HIPAA compliance.
9. Ability to read, understand and interpret information from a variety of sources and to understand and follow complex instructions.
10. Interpersonal and communication skills as necessary to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
11. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work tasks effectively to meet quality and productivity requirements. 
12. Demonstrated customer service skills.
