Description:
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assists in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including preparation and
distribution of medications to patients and patient care areas. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and
performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne
Shift: Rotating 8-hour shifts
What you will do:
- Receives and transcribes new orders and refill authorizations.
- Uses medication orders to identify, locate and pull appropriate quantity of medication needed.
- Prepares medication for dispensing.
- Packages medication order for delivery.
- Accurately requests refill authorizations from prescribers (or not applicable to I/P Tech).
- Delivers prescription orders to patients or patient care area under the direction of the
- Performs computer data entry and print functions.
- Gathers information required to prepare prescriptions and/or other pharmacy functions.
- Enters accurate and complete data into computer system.
- Verifies and maintains up-to-date information.
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Certified Technician required within 12 months from registration with the Board of Pharmacy.
- Registered with Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Technician or as a Pharmacy Intern within 30 days of hire
- If driving, valid Iowa driver's license.
