Your future role at a glance:

Location: Remote

Department: Ascension Pharmacy Services 

Schedule: Day shift | Full-time Monday-Friday

Salary: $21.63 - $30.15 (per hour)

How you'll make an impact in this role:
 
  • Process new prescriptions accurately while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Verify benefits, adjudicate claims, and resolve insurance rejections efficiently.
  • Support prior authorization requests by gathering clinical documentation and coordinating follow-up.
  • Communicate with patients to provide prescription updates, clarify information, and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with prescribers’ offices to obtain clarifications, missing details, and PA documentation.
What minimum qualifications you'll need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:
    • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed. Must possess all state and local qualifications.
    • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Must possess all state and local qualifications. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
What additional requirements you'll need:
  • 2+ years of Retail or Mail Order Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
  • Experience documenting interactions, findings, and interventions in accordance with workflow and policy standards.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively between pharmacies, patients, insurance plans, and healthcare providers.
  • Strong understanding of productivity metrics, including data entry accuracy, adjudication efficiency, call center standards, and error-rate goals.
