Payrate: $24-$26/hr. (Based on Experience)

Location: Johns Hopkins Care at Home Central Fill Pharmacy  

Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm

Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting central pharmacists and technicians in the delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products under direct supervision of a Pharmacist. Documents and updates documentation on various pharmaceutical products that are loaded in the automated dispensing machines. Communicates with pharmacy staff and nurses about medication when necessary and appropriate.

 

  • Prepare medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and medication orders.
  • Assist in the preparation of sterile and non-sterile compounds.
  • Maintain accurate records, including labeling, documentation, and tracking of medications.
  • Support inventory management by ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas following established procedures.
  • Monitor expiration dates and remove expired medications from inventory.
  • Handle hazardous medications in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
  • Report medication errors or potential issues in accordance with guidelines.
  • Maintain and clean pharmacy equipment and automation systems.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training program.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months of Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience required.

  • Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with state of Maryland.

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)  required.

  • Maintains continuing education requirements
