Shift: 1st & 2nd combinationSchedule: Varied (10-hour shifts between 6:30a-9p)Hours per week: Per DiemBenefits Status: Not EligibleDepartment: PharmacyWe are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists in the preparation, distribution, and inventory management of medications to support safe and effective patient care. The ideal candidate is committed to accuracy, customer service, teamwork, and maintaining the highest standards of medication safety in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Prepare, package, label, and distribute medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.Assists pharmacists by triaging phone calls and completing various other tasks as requested.Process medication orders and enter prescription information into the pharmacy information system.Refill and stock automated dispensing cabinets and medication storage areas.Deliver medications to patient care units throughout the hospital.Assist with sterile and non-sterile medication preparation in accordance with established policies and regulations.Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.Monitor medication inventory levels and assist with ordering and stocking supplies.Remove expired medications and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.Support controlled substance inventory and documentation processes.Participate in medication safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accrediting standards.Provide exceptional customer service to patients, nursing staff, providers, and other healthcare team members.Demonstrates ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently within computer software applicationsJob Requirements High School graduate for equivalentWisconsin Pharmacy Technician licensure.National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) recommended.Previous Pharmacy hospital technician experience preferred.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Basic computer and data entry skills.
