 Pharmacy Technician-Bilingual Spanish- Long Island City

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

This unique position is responsible for the coordination and processing of new patient medication orders and reorders. This includes verifying/re-verifying insurance benefits; translating and entering new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy information system; communicating and collecting copay amounts; prior authorizations/reauthorizations; and screening, identifying, resolving or deferring orders. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Greeting customers and take prescription orders
• Operate the cash register by ringing up sales for customers
• Assist in keeping the pharmacy clean and the shelves stocked
• Answer the phone
• Input customer information into the computer system

Qualifications:

• BILINGUAL SPANISH A PLUS
• Current PTCB Certification is preferred
• 2+ years retail pharmacy experience preferred with the ability to multi task and work independently
• Start Up pharmacy experience a plus
• Computer experience mandatory
• Proven track record of exemplary customer service
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care
