About the Position
This position is located at the State Veterans Home at Tradition in Biloxi, MS. A first-level technical position accountable for assisting a pharmacist in drug distribution and inventory. Applicants must be in possession of a Pharmacy Technician License. A familiarity with medical terminology and drug types, as well as the common abbreviations used in writing medication orders, and a knowledge of names, strengths, and dosage forms of medications is required. The incumbent must be able to follow procedures efficiently and accurately with minimum supervision. (This is a Non-State, TIME-LIMITED (14) position).

Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency, 0-2 years of experience, and a passing score on the registration exam must be obtained within the first year of being a technician. - Agency Requirements: Applicants must be in possession of a Pharmacy Technician License. Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency, zero (0) to two (2) years of experience, and a Pharmacy Tech License.
