Qualifications: Job Profile Summary: The Outreach Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for outbound calling to members, providers and pharmacies in an effort to improve HEDIS metrics. The Pharmacy Specialists will be responsible for calling members with gaps for Medication Adherence to improve HEDIS. Other types of outbound calls to members, providers, and pharmacies may be assigned. This position may include updating, maintaining and monitoring pharmacy information distributed to external and internal customers. This includes pharmacy information and pharmacy tools placed on the company web site and the processes involved to have information placed on the company web site. Customer Service skills apply, friendly and professional demeanor.
Job Duties:
Conduct outbound educational telephone calls regarding medication adherence to members, prescribes and pharmacists as directed.
Encourage and motivate members to become compliant by refilling their prescriptions and/or coordinating the needed appointments with provider offices
Receive provider and member pharmacy problems/complaints and escalate to appropriate management staff.
Document all pertinent data, complete daily tracking, reporting/activity as requested in Care Communication Management System (CCMS).
Perform data analysis as assigned.
Maintain proper workflow while meeting departmental goals for timeliness.
Fax and/or mail provider and member communications as directed.
Respond to inquiries from providers, members, family, and internal staff.
Participate in meetings/committees as requested.
Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines; work under moderate/minimal supervision.
Responsible for timely review of updates to drug information and drugs lists.
Complete various projects thoroughly, accurately and timely as assigned by management.
Implement processes involved in communication distribution to members and providers.
Lend clerical support to other departmental members as requested.
Other duties as directed by management to accomplish department goals.
Responsibilities: Job Qualifications: Education o High School diploma or equivalent. Experience o Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail pharmacy and strong clinical drug therapy knowledge. o Call Center experience preferred. o Knowledge in pharmacy/medical terms. Skills/Certifications o National Certification as pharmacy technician (PTCB) required. o Interpersonal/organizational/technical skills required. o Technical proficiency in PC-based software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, other internal systems). o Written and oral TELEPHONIC communication skills are required. o Ability to work independently on multiple tasks involving critical deadlines with little or no supervision as well as part of a team. o Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently and as part of a team. o Knowledge of hypertension treatment and diabetes treatment preferred.
