Position Title: Pharmacy Technician I
Duration: 12 Months
Work Location: Chesterfield, MO 63005
Schedule: Monday Friday, between 8:00 AM 6:00 PM.
Pay Range: $20 - $23/hourly
Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician I supports pharmacists in the accurate preparation, processing, and fulfillment of prescription medications. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of pharmacy operations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have prior pharmacy experience, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely prescription processing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare and fill prescription orders for pharmacist verification.
  • Enter prescription information into pharmacy systems by reviewing prescription images and documentation.
  • Process prescription refill requests and complete reorder activities for ongoing patient therapy.
  • Initiate prescription clarification requests with healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Receive and document verbal prescription instructions from prescribers as permitted by pharmacy regulations.
  • Review and process prescription-related documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with packaging and shipping activities to support timely delivery of medications.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and internal teams to ensure prescriptions are processed efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, quality assurance requirements, accreditation standards, and state and federal regulations.
  • Complete assigned work queues and production tasks according to established productivity expectations.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Daily Responsibilities
  • Filling and preparing prescriptions for pharmacist review.
  • Performing prescription data entry and verification support.
  • Managing refill and reorder requests.
  • Assisting with shipping and fulfillment operations.
  • Moving throughout the pharmacy to support workflow and production needs.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records.
Performance Expectations
  • Process and fill approximately 18 22 prescription orders per hour while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Meet established productivity, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Contribute positively to a team-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience required.
  • Experience in retail, specialty, mail-order, hospital, or long-term care pharmacy environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with medications commonly used to treat chronic and complex health conditions preferred.
Licensure
  • Active Missouri Pharmacy Technician License required at the time of hire.
Required Skills

  • Current national Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).

  • Experience supporting prescription fulfillment, shipping, or specialty pharmacy operations.
