What You’ll Do<\/span><\/span>
<\/p>

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in providing safe and effective medication therapy. This role supports medication preparation, dispensing, and distribution while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety. You will:<\/span><\/span>
<\/p>

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications accurately and efficiently<\/span><\/span>
  <\/li>
• Support inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations, including unit dose, IV admixture, and prescription processing<\/span><\/span>
  <\/li>
• Maintain medication safety standards and ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations<\/span><\/span>
  <\/li>
• Utilize pharmacy dispensing systems and technology to support workflow and patient care<\/span><\/span>
  <\/li>
• Prepare IV admixtures using aseptic technique, as required by practice location<\/span><\/span>
  <\/li>
• Communicate effectively with pharmacists, providers, and healthcare staff to ensure quality patient service<\/span><\/span>
  <\/li>
• Perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions with precision<\/span><\/span>
  <\/li>
• Help maintain organized medication inventory and pharmacy records<\/span><\/span>
  <\/li><\/ul>

  What We Are Looking For<\/span><\/span>
  <\/p>

  Knowledge & Experience<\/span><\/span>
  <\/p>

  • Knowledge of pharmacy dispensing systems, including unit dose, IV admixture, and outpatient prescription processing<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Understanding of medication therapy and age -specific differences across all patient populations, from neonates to geriatric patients<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique for IV admixture preparation, as applicable<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Knowledge of drug nomenclature, including both brand and generic medications<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, technician scope of practice, and activities permitted by law<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and conversions within and between systems of measurement<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Windows programs, email, and internet applications<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment<\/span><\/span><\/span>

    Education & Licensure<\/span><\/span>
    <\/p>

    • High school diploma or GED required<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • No previous training or certification required<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire to maintain employment<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Must be licensed as a Provisional Pharmacy Technician in good standing in the State of Montana<\/span><\/span>
