PHARMACY TECHNICIAN I P

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

A Pharmacy Technician I will perform technical functions and related pharmacy duties at all pharmacies as well as activities related to procuring, storing, and distribution of pharmaceutical and pharmacy products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Procures, stores and distributes pharmacy merchandise in accordance with legal requirements.
• Follows procedures in verifying patient information
• Type and fill prescriptions in accordance with legal requirements on the pharmacy computer operating System in a high output setting.
• Keeps work area and equipment in a clean and organized condition; maintains a safe efficient work environment.
• Assists in the maintenance of inventory records, the taking of inventories, the placement of orders, and the receiving of drugs and supplies.
• Establishes and maintains courteous and cooperative relationships with peers, patients, and other personnel, and the public.
• Operate a cash register in a high volume setting.
• Interview patients to obtain information regarding drug use, pertinent patient information, drug allergies and sensitivities.
• Be able to cover all clinic locations
• Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid license as a pharmacy technician from the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Follow guidelines established by the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Must be able to cover all Pharmacy locations.

LANGUAGE:

• Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.
• Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin), Vietnamese, Spanish and other languages may be required depending on location.
• Fluency in other languages is an asset.

STATUS:

This is an FLSA Non-exempt position.

This is an OSHA high-risk position.
