Description

This is a per diem/casual, non-benefited position with 8-hour varied shifts located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. Must be available for a minimum of 4 days (primarily weekends) in a 4 week schedule, plus one holiday block. Training can be up to full time hours for the first 4 weeks, or 20 training shifts based on availability.

As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. The Pharmacy Technician will join the tight-knit team at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas and will have ample opportunity to experience all aspects of inpatient pharmacy operations, including medication distribution, repackaging, sterile and non-sterile compounding. The Pharmacy Technician will also have the opportunity to train for tech-check-tech operations and cross-train in other specialized roles, including medication history, buyer, medication safety and systems analyst.

Qualifications

Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Certification/Registration:

  • California Board of Pharmacy Certification

Required Education/Course(s)/Training:

  • Certification by National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferred.
  • 1 year inpatient experience preferred or hospital externship
