All duties and responsibilities of Pharmacy Technicians will comply with New York State law and the rules and regulations as promulgated by the New York State Board of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician I will work with various pharmacists who direct the daily work flow as needed to adjust to changes in the patient care workload. Education And CredentialsHigh School Diploma or GED is required. Certified Pharmacy Technician required within 6 months of hire. Registered Pharmacy Technician within 9 months of hire. Pharmacy Intern/Residents required upon hire. The Registered Pharmacy Technician designation is required by the NYS Board of Regents and the Commissioner of Education effective April 25, 2021. However, if the technician possesses a NYS Pharmacy intern permit, Certification and technician licensure is not required. Pharmacy Intern/Residents is equivalent to Registered Pharmacy Intern.
