Certified Pharmacy Tech
UnityPoint - Allen Hospital
Full Time; 32 Hours Per Week; 8 hour shifts, mix of day shifts, evening shifts, and weekends.
Eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus!
The Certified Pharmacy Technician II is accountable for facilitating responsible provision of pharmacy services through the performance of hospital pharmacy functions, such as the preparation and delivery of medications to nursing and/or ancillary departments under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Participate as a "Checking Technician" in the Tech-Check-Tech Program, and is proficient in the IV hood room in preparing batched and IV products, and is trained and helps in medication reconciliation for admitted and pre-admitted patients.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrates Allen CARE values in all actions and interactions.
- Prepare and delivery non-sterile medications to nursing units and ancillary departments per schedule and as needed.
- Medication unit dose per shift and as needed.
- OR fill is pulled and delivered once per shift and as needed.
- Narcotics are pulled and delivered once per shift and as needed.
- Nursing/Ancillary unit check and pharmacy outdates monthly.
- Answering telephone and transferring calls as needed.
- Refill and replace used crash carts, RSI kits and stroke boxes.
- Compounding and reconstitutions as needed.
- Miscellaneous - Refrigerator temps documentation, process admission, discharge and transfer labels, purge Pyxis, place Cardinal order, and tasks as directed.
- Tech-Check-Tech checking AND IV Room responsibility AND Technician Medication Reconciliation Staffing
Qualifications
- Minimally required Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician 1 year hospital experience and completed Tech-Check-Tech training and have completed training in IV Room and show competency making IVs.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Knowledge of the departments policies and guidelines.
