Job Title: Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient
Location: Seaside, OR 97138
Shift: Day Shift (09:30 AM – 06:00 PM) + Weekend Shift (07:30 AM – 06:00 PM)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Temp-to-Hire Opportunity)
Hours: 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts, 5 days/week)
Position Summary
The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and management of medications within a critical access hospital environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and hands-on experience in IV medication preparation to ensure safe, effective, and compliant pharmaceutical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Perform IV admixture of non-hazardous medications
- Maintain accurate medication inventory, storage, and organization
- Label, package, and distribute medications in compliance with safety standards
- Utilize the EPIC system for medication tracking and documentation
- Support medication reconciliation and restocking processes
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and infection control standards
- Collaborate with pharmacists and clinical staff to support patient care delivery
Required Skills & Experience
- Prior travel assignment experience (required)
- IV admixture experience (non-hazardous medications) (required)
- Strong focus on medication safety and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a small hospital setting
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Pharmacy Technician training or certification (preferred)
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License (required, in hand)
- PTCB Certification (preferred)
