Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Acute Care

The Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Acute Care performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains quality of workflows, regulatory standards, and other complex pharmacy processes.

Essential Job Function

• Maintains pharmacy workflow; including but not limited to compounding hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications, distribution of medication in compliance with current standards, or obtaining a complete and accurate medication history based on organization standard.
• Serves as a reference for other pharmacy technicians.
• Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees.
• Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives.
• Communicates effectively with team members in and outside of pharmacy, providing quality customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required: 7 years. Successful completion (graduation) of CH accredited technician training program is equivalent to 2 years of experience.

Licensure/Certification/Listing Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an "advanced pharmacy technician certification" within 12 months of starting the role.
