Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

This Pharmacy Technician role supports a single-pharmacist retail pharmacy in Leavenworth, KS, providing essential assistance with daily operations, data entry, and customer service. You will work closely with the pharmacist and a small team of technicians, contributing to safe, efficient, and accurate pharmacy services while developing your skills and growing into increased responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities

  • Support the pharmacist with day-to-day pharmacy operations in a retail setting.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry for prescriptions and related patient information, or learn these tasks if you are new to data entry.
  • Assist with processing prescriptions, following established procedures and pharmacy regulations.
  • Provide friendly, confident, and professional service to patients and other customers.
  • Collaborate closely with the on-site pharmacist and other pharmacy technicians to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Demonstrate thoroughness and attention to detail in all tasks to help ensure patient safety.
  • Show initiative and independence in completing assigned duties with minimal supervision.
  • Actively learn new processes and responsibilities, including the potential to grow into site-level responsibilities over time.
  • Maintain reliability in attendance and punctuality to support consistent pharmacy operations.
  • Commit to a long-term role with the intent to transition into a permanent position.

Essential Skills

  • Active or in-progress Kansas pharmacy technician license, with a commitment to working toward full certification.
  • Interest in pharmacy or health care environments.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry or willingness to learn data entry processes.
  • Demonstrated independence, self-motivation, and reliability in previous roles or experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a friendly, personable, and confident communication style.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and openness to coaching and feedback.
  • High level of thoroughness and attention to detail in all work.
  • Clear intention to pursue a permanent position in the pharmacy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience of 6 months or more is a plus.
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting or familiarity with pharmacy operations is beneficial.
  • Early-career candidates are welcome, provided they are coachable and eager to learn.
  • PharmD education or coursework, or other pharmacy-related studies, is an advantage.
  • Prior health care experience in any setting is helpful.
  • Potential and interest in growing into site-level responsibilities over time.

Work Environment

This role is based in a retail pharmacy in Leavenworth, KS, working closely with one on-site pharmacist and typically one to two pharmacy technicians. The environment is team-oriented and fast-paced, with a strong focus on accuracy, patient service, and collaboration. You will work in a professional clinical setting that requires consistent attention to detail and adherence to pharmacy procedures and regulations. The position offers an opportunity to build long-term experience, learn directly from an on-site pharmacist, and gradually take on greater responsibility within a small, supportive team

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leavenworth, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
