Location: Johns Hopkins Care at Home Central Fill Pharmacy

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Process medication prior authorization requests and patient assistance program applications.
• Collaborate with providers to obtain required clinical documentation.
• Communicate with insurance companies and pharmaceutical manufacturers regarding coverage and authorization requirements.
• Review requests for compliance with insurance and manufacturer guidelines.
• Document all authorization and patient assistance activities in the medical record.
• Coordinate with pharmacy staff to facilitate timely dispensing of approved medications.
• Educate patients and providers on authorization and assistance program processes.
• Investigate and resolve authorization denials and delays.
• Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with state of Maryland.

• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)  required.

• Two (2) years of experience in pharmacy, medical billing, insurance verification, or a related field. One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of experience

• Maintains continuing education requirements
