Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Location: Montvale, NJ 07645 Duration: 06/15/2026 11/13/2026 Shift: Variable Day Shift MondayFriday, 6:00 AM7:00 PM Schedule: 37.5 hrs/week, MondayFriday, shift times vary based on departmental needs Pay Range: $23-$25/hr. Schedule Notes: Shifts vary between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM Schedule subject to change based on department needs 2 years of clinical/hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred Work Setting: Hospital Pharmacy / Clinical Pharmacy Required Skills & Experience: Excellent communication skills Medication preparation and distribution experience Pharmacy calculations and medication counting experience Inventory management and medication replenishment experience Sterile compounding and aseptic technique experience Drug distribution system experience Narcotic handling and documentation experience Medication labeling, packaging, and dispensing experience Hospital/clinical pharmacy experience highly preferred (2+ years) Education: High School Diploma or GED required Required Certifications & Licensure: Pharmacy Technician State Registration in New York and/or New Jersey (based on work location) Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or NHA required Job Summary: Assists pharmacists by performing technical pharmacy functions for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients under direct supervision. Supports medication preparation, sterile compounding, distribution, inventory control, documentation, and pharmacy operations while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and departmental regulations. Duties: Manufacturing & Compounding Manufacture, package, and label medications according to department guidelines Prepare sterile parenteral products using aseptic technique Compound extemporaneous medications Handle chemotherapeutic, biological, and pharmacologic agents using required safety precautions Ensure proper medication labeling and product accuracy Verify medication expiration dates and emergency drug box inventory Medication Distribution Perform medication distribution activities including patient bin, IVPB, LVP, and PYXIS restocking Deliver medications within required departmental timeframes Process admissions, discharges, and transfer medication updates Follow federal, state, and departmental narcotic handling procedures Manage pharmacy inventory, drug ordering, receiving, and stock adjustments Process pharmacy requisitions and maintain secure medication storage Perform pharmacy calculations and medication counts under pharmacist verification Manage IV medication distribution and recycling processes Process prescription returns and pharmacist credit requests as required Administration & Compliance Maintain compounding logs, cleaning records, equipment documentation, and temperature monitoring records Complete daily narcotic inventories and report discrepancies Clean pharmacy equipment, hoods, counters, and work areas Rotate inventory and remove expired medications Maintain pharmacy stock levels and monitor critical medication par levels Process patient charges and cost-center medication transactions Maintain compliance with aseptic technique standards and competency requirements Ensure equipment is properly maintained and functioning throughout the shift
