Job Summary We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT with PTCB, PTCE, or equivalent national certification preferred, but is not required) to join our pharmacy team! As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be receiving incoming prescriptions, checking for accuracy, and inputting that information into our system. You will also be accepting payments for prescriptions, receiving incoming inventory, and answering customer questions and concerns. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, exceptional customer service skills, and prior experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Receive written, electronic, and faxed prescriptions from prescribers, verify the information is accurate, and input it into the system as needed
Maintain proper storage and inventory of all medications in the pharmacy
Receive incoming inventory, verify the accuracy, log it within the system, and put it away as needed
Maintain proper pharmacy records, including patient profiles, inventory logs, and more
Accept payment for prescriptions and OTC / front-end transactions
Answer phones and handle customer inquiries, referring to the pharmacist when necessary
Compliance packaging medications (Bubble-Packs)
Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone, answering questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs.
Helping maintain a safe, compliant, and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations (including all DEA, Ohio Board of Pharmacy, federal, and state laws/rules/regulations/guidance).
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating quantities, and assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
Maintains records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions.
Generates revenues by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
Willingness to help out with prescription deliveries when/if needed

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Required:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
PTCB National Certification Education (or equivalent)
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Currently up to date on: HIPAA training, FWA training/certification, DEA CMEA Self-Certification (Handling/Sale of Pseudoephedrine-Containing Products)
Active & Valid Ohio Pharmacy Technician License
Preferred:
Previous experience in a fast-paced pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Previous experience using PioneerRx pharmacy software
5+ Years experience as pharmacy technician
Job Type: Full-Time; 35-40 hours Weekly
Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Pharmacy Open 9AM-6PM)
Every Other Saturday (9AM-1PM)
