Actalent is hiring for a Pharmacy Technician in the North Chicago area!

Job Description

The Pharmacy Technician position supports pharmacists in entering, processing, and managing drug therapy orders, interpreting and dispensing prescriptions, and maintaining patient and pharmacy records. This role also collaborates with Leads in resolving issues and completing project tasks. As a subject matter expert in pharmacy operations, the Pharmacy Technician ensures accurate and efficient service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with pharmacy practices in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.
  • Interpret healthcare provider's prescription orders and accurately enter them into the core pharmacy system.
  • Notify physicians of incomplete or incorrect prescription information and perform physician outreach as needed.
  • Manage patient adherence process and schedule medication deliveries according to Pharmacy Solutions guidelines.
  • Support patients with treatment compliance by updating current medications, allergies, and medical conditions.
  • Communicate with health insurance payors and providers to verify prescription coverage and transmit test claims.
  • Recommend process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity within pharmacy operations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure accurate service provision to patients.
  • Maintain active Illinois Certified Pharmacy Technician licensure and Continuing Education (CE) requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Specialty Pharmacy, Retail/Mail Order Pharmacy, PBM, or healthcare provider setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make high-quality decisions.
  • Professionalism in a high-volume, customer service environment.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in data entry, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in handling medical records and prescription data entry.
  • Familiarity with medical and pharmacy benefit systems.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in written and oral communications.
  • Experience with on-line verification systems or similar.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position at the company"s headquarters with a flexible work schedule between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. The work environment is supportive, collaborative, and team-oriented, emphasizing integrity and continuous learning. Employees are expected to handle a high volume of calls daily, efficiently wrapping up and moving to the next task. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.05 - $27.00/hr.
