Pharmacy Technician

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas Pharmacy Technician License Required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Basic computer proficiency
• Basic internet and web navigation skills
• Keyboarding skills of at least 25 WPM
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to push, pull, grasp, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to work flexible shifts

 
Preferred Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT Certification
• At least 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
• Experience in retail, fulfillment, mail-order, or call center pharmacy environments
• Strong customer service and data entry skills
• Experience resolving insurance claim rejections

• Process prescription exceptions, including claim rejections and member/physician outreach.
• Enter patient demographics and prescription information into pharmacy systems.
• Process new patient registrations and refill requests.
• Troubleshoot missing prescription information and interpret SIG codes.
• Research and resolve insurance billing issues and third-party claim rejections.
• Escalate prescription questions to the Pharmacist when appropriate.
• Operate automated pharmacy fulfillment equipment.
• Sort medications through multiple workflow stages while maintaining quality standards.
• Count, fill, label, package, and ship prescription medications.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and workflow efficiency.
• Clean and maintain pharmacy equipment and work areas.
• Assist pharmacists and communicate workflow issues to senior staff.
• Support inbound and outbound patient or physician communications.
• Follow all HIPAA, pharmacy, and company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
