Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician assists in providing pharmacy services to Sterling Health Solutions' clinic patients and supports the daily operations of the pharmacy. This position reports directly to the Director of Pharmacy and plays an essential role in ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient medication dispensing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:
Assists in dispensing prescriptions by mixing suspensions, counting tablets, or pouring liquids under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Maintains familiarity with correct prescription terminology.
Reviews all prescriptions for completeness and accuracy, verifying patient information and proper provider authorization.
Enters patient data and prescription information into the computer system.
Prepares and prints prescription labels.
Assists with inventory control of medications and supplies, including ordering, receiving, shelving, and routinely checking for outdated medications.
Provides non‑drug information to patients and responds to basic inquiries.
Operates the cash register and processes transactions accurately.
Cleans pharmacy equipment and maintains a tidy and organized work area.
Attends required meetings and participates in additional meetings as requested.
Participates in staff development and educational activities.
Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time, non-exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
Travel
Travel between health center sites is required.

Physical Demands
This position requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods. It may involve working under stressful conditions or irregular hours. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common in a clinical environment may occur.
